SmokeyRue, is a rising star in the world of hip hop. Born in New Orleans, Louisiana, but raised in Lewisville, Texas, he first got into music as a way to cope with the end of his football career. After suffering two torn ACLs, he was forced to hang up his cleats and come home, feeling lost and adrift. That's when he started rapping.
In his own words, SmokeyRue describes himself as a storyteller, not a lyricist. He draws on his own life experiences to craft songs that are raw, honest, and relatable. His music is infused with pain, but it's not the kind of pain that brings you down; it's the kind that makes you want to get up and fight. One of his biggest musical influences is Boosie, but his favorite rapper is Youngboy. Both of these artists are known for their ability to tell a story with their music, and SmokeyRue has clearly taken that lesson to heart. His music is deeply personal, and he's not afraid to put his own struggles and pain on display. Despite only being in the game for a short time, SmokeyRue has already begun to make a name for himself. He has a new single and video dropping on May 22nd called "Get You Some Bidnizz & Stop Hatin", and he has plans for a tour in the works. For him, it's all about staying true to himself and continuing to tell his story. Looking to the future, SmokeyRue has a clear vision for his career as an artist. He wants to be as pure and authentic as possible, and he knows that the key to achieving that is to keep living and experiencing new things. The more pain he goes through, the more material he has to draw from, and the more he can connect with his audience. SmokeyRue is a talent to watch in the world of hip hop. With his raw honesty and personal touch, he's sure to win over fans and continue to make waves in the industry. Whether he's telling stories of pain or triumph, he has a gift for making you feel like you're right there with him, living through it all.
